Sixth Form students can showcase their talents and get involved in a rich calendar of performance related activities which play an important role in our academy’s vibrant arts culture. We encourage students to become involved.
As part of your course you have the opportunity to perform for a live audience as part of your assessments, this usually involves one scripted performance and one devised performance.
Students can also participate in our Christmas and Summer shows where we come together with music to celebrate your talents.
Throughout the course we have many opportunities to go to the theatre to see both live and pre recorded performances. Some of the things we have seen over the years includes - Billy Elliot, Les Miserables, The Play that goes Wrong, Midsummer Nights Dream, Pantomime, Matilda and many more.
We also offer a range of after school enrichment opportunities for sixth form students, these include but are not limited to Drama, Musical theatre, Dance and National Theatre viewing. We also really encourage sixth form students to support in key stage 3 drama enrichments as this can help develop your skills in directing and also is a great thing to have on your UCAS.
